Sewing experience needed!

May. 23rd, 2009 | 05:22 pm
music: AC/DC - Rock 'n' Roll Singer | Powered by Last.fm

Ok, I really wanted a very lightweight sleeveless white hoodie, but couldn't find one. So I just bought 2 of regular sleeved lightweight hoodies, got'em super cheap too, $7 a pop. I thought I'd just take it upon myself to cut the sleeves off of them so I could have the shirts I wanted.

But, I don't want them to look like I just chopped the sleeves off, I want to put a stitch on the shoulders to make it look like pro.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Also, I'm thinking about putting some piping around the sleeveless openings. Is this amateur level stuff or should I take it to a pro to get this done?

Jumping on the Bandwagon - Twitter

May. 18th, 2009 | 04:05 am
music: PJ Harvey - Good Fortune

I know I've been quiet for the past month, and sadly, this will probably continue for the near future. Sad I know. But I don't want to miss you guys and I don't want you miss me, so tonight, but kicks, I joined twitter.

http://twitter.com/JonathonWally

I'll be honest, as a lot of you know, I've mocked Twitter in the past, but I came to realize not only is it kinda fun, but it's a great way for me to stay in connect with my friends!

My friends here, all of you, are important to me and can't bare the thought of losing contact with any of you!

I truly hope those of you not currently on Twitter join in on the fun!

For those of you already on Twitter, if you'd enjoy having another fan, hit me up with your link!

Let's see how much fun we can have with this!

I promise to try and keep it as entertaining as I possibly can.

Because I've been so quiet for so long

Your result for The Social Persona Test (What kind of man/woman are you?)...

The Late Bloomer (QTAM)

Quirky Traditional Alpha Male

You are a horrible persona to be until sometime in high school or college, and then things just can't go wrong for you. Sure you are a bit nerdy, but the cool type of nerdy; and you have developed confidence as if it were a well toned muscle. When selecting a date stick to nice, traditional women, preferably ones who share your interests.

You are more QUIRKY than NORMAL.

You are more TRADITIONAL than LIBERAL.

You are more DOMINANT than PASSIVE.

When picking a date, consider: The Rarity (QTAF) or The Librarian (QTBF).

My Views of Religion and BSG

Mar. 23rd, 2009 | 04:46 am
mood: contemplativecontemplative
music: Within Temptation - The Cross | Powered by Last.fm

First off, I will frame this entire post by saying this entire post is simply my own interpretation of the religious aspects of the last few episodes of BSG.

I'm neither right nor wrong, it's just my choice. And I'd like to thank RDM and the entire creative staff and people of BSG of leaving all of this completely open to your own interpretion.

Since I know some of you have not seen the end of Battlestar Galactica yet, I will put the rest of this post behind a cut.

Massive Spoilers from here on out, read at your own risk!

My Movie

Feb. 14th, 2009 | 01:04 am

I'm a sucker for some of these fad meme things, so I did this one. Hope you enjoy

Opening Credits:
More Human Than Human - White Zombie

Maybe the best way to possibly open up a movie all about me?

Waking Up;
Avenged Sevenfold (A7X) - I Won't See You Tonight

So, it looks like we start with a decent downer ballad.
Looks like it might be a drama flick, but with good metal so far.

First Day At School:
Limelight - Rush

A metaphor for me being a rockstar since day 1!

Playtime/Childhood:
Here Comes My Girl - Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers

So I meet my dream chick as a kid, that's cool now it's one of those fate/romancey flicks.

Falling In Love:
Our Truth - Lacuna Coil

Yes! My life is still about being a rockstar, more metal and a great song to have one of "those moments" with the gal of my dreams.

Fight Song:
Lump - P.U.S.A

Annnndd I get beaten up my a girl, true to life, so I'm not complaining :P

Breaking Up:
Unbroken - Killswitch Engage

So, me and the gal break up, from the soundtrack alone, apparantly, I get dumped. But at least I'm not emo about it, I'm all angry and I might even go knock over a garbage can in my teenage rage!!

Prom:
Can't Stop - Red Hot Chili Peppers

I'm a funky dancing machine, so just like real life, I'm probably doing the robot and breaking out some moves on the dance floor with subtle metaphor that I'm doing it all to impress my gal!

Life's OK:
The Hand That Feeds - Nine Inch Nails

I really don't know where to go with this one, a not so subtle soundtrack cue that tells you that I'm not cool with just being ok? Maybe not so much of a stretch

Mental Breakdown:
Nothing For Me Here - Dope

At least when I have my mental break, I do it like a proper rockstar and break stuff and go looney, so far, the movie's keeping it real.

Driving:
Wherever I may Roam (live) - Metallica

Fitting to drive to, and I'm still pretty "metal" when it comes to driving around. Maybe a bit too overt though.... Unless it's a montage of me driving cross country with a cool motion control trick to show me in the car in normal time and the rest of "my world" in super fast forward.

Flashback:
Learning To Fly - Pink Floyd

I must say, a very fitting flashback dreamy sequence song. Especially if I'm sitting outside looking at the stars and sparkin one up. It would work even better if it shows more of my screw ups and how I "grew" from them. Reflective and thoughtful, showing character growth while not being "emo"

Getting Back Together:
Amaranth - Nightwish

Wow, a very awesome song for the occasion. Very rockstar "romantic metal"
Ok guys, I could write up an entire scene and dialog for this part, this song is that incredible. Instead though, I'd really suggest that you try and look this song up, youtube or something, trust me, Would I ever lead you wrong?

Wedding:
It's In Our Hands - Bjork

A very sweet and fitting song, to truly capture the scene, it's gotta be shown in a slower motion montage of wedding day events, with a bit of a yellow filter bit in the middle of September, she looks beautiful in her white dress with a big smile and I'm smiling there in my tux, an outside thing with a fountain in the background.

Birth of Child:
Grace is Gone - Dave Matthews Band

A very sweet song, I don't know how to interpret this one, I though about cheating and skipping, but I didn't, I'll stick with it. The tone is saying I love my wife and love having a kid, but I'm scared. Maybe in my mind it's my last hurrah as a child myself and now I have to grow up and be a dad.

Final Battle:
Your Move - Yes

Sounds like a very touching battle, a final summation of all my struggles and my life and my accomplishments, with this playing it's obviously playing up to my death to follow, it's only way this song could be used in such a way. I'm an older guy, maybe at a family gathering, like an annivery or something, I'm going through some things in my mind, looking at my awesome wife, my rockstar kids, letting go of regrets I may have had and being really happy with my friends and family.

Death Scene:
Still Remains - Stone Temple Pilots

It's a love song, so I'm with my gal, this kinda makes me sad to think about that she's there for it, so I don't want to go into this scene.

End Credits:
Time Stand Still - Rush

I got really lucky with this one, a great closing credits song, it really brings the story full circle, nice and reflective and adding some closure to the entire emotional rollercoaster, especially since Limelight was in the beginning of the movie. So, the movie's over, I told my tale, my only hope is that the theater lights come up and everyone's left with a sense of feeling happy, peaceful, and fulfilled. Sure there may have been tears, but now you know everything is going to be ok, maybe you even got to look at your own life from the outside in.

Rocking while under the weather

Feb. 3rd, 2009 | 03:56 am
music: Lazy Eye - Silversun Pickups

Ever notice you manage to get sick at the most inconvenient of times?

Well that's what's happened to me. I've been for about a week now, and man does it suck, and well, blow.

Luckily today I've started to feel a bit better. Hopefully a good sign as this Friday I have an installation dinner to attend for one of organizations. And I actually have a speech to make and thank yous to say to people.

This year, I've been selected/elected to be our press person. I'm the official liason with all the press and media outlets. So it's my duty to craft our message and lias with the media during all "events" which covers everything we release to the public.

It's a big responsibility, but I wanted it. So can all of you internet people imagine me as a PR person? Besides writting newspaper articles, I think I most look for to my first time in front of a group of microphones and tape recorders shoved in my face just to hear me say "no comment" :D

So in the past week, besides sleep, I've been on the phone and talking to all these people through emails and the such while writting a few articles. So not a total loss of time.

But, most importantly, it's given me plenty of time to keep RockBand on, constantly! So while not sleeping and handling paperwork and the such, I've been rocking out!

I've started to feel better, so hopefully things can return to normal for me, or well, as close to normal as my life gets.

Sadly I had to put my fitness program on hold, which is what really bothers me the most, as it's a 14 week program that I was 2 weeks into and now I've had to lose a week and postpone week 3, and worst of all, it seems I'm going to be ending up putting it on hold for 2 weeks, last week, and the rest of this week, hopefully I'll get a few days in this week just to make sure I'm still where I left off. Which also include my training for my 5k run the second week of April, and every day of training lost really effects me.

I think that about brings you up to date with me, thank you for bearing with me through my sulking and self pity. :P

In the next few weeks if your interested, you get to look forward to my first ever podcast, me and a good friend have been wanting to do this for a while and finally got a chance to work on it.

In the time being though, I urge you all to give a listen to the song I listed with this post, Lazy Eye by the Silversun Pickups.

Great works are performed not by strength, but perseverance.

Jan. 25th, 2009 | 01:13 am
location: My Room
mood: draineddrained
music: Heresey - Nine Inch Nails

I haven't put up anything of substance here in a while, as I've been overwhelmed (reletively, more or less I suppose :P)

Two things I just wanted to throw out there tonight, You'll have to excuse my poor writing skills tonight as my inkwell of imagination has run dry tonight do to what I've been working on all day.

for the moment, I'm the sole source of publicity and PR for my "company" so the day was mostly spend writing up 5 different press releases and articles to be sent to 5 different newspapers in the upcoming week. They all have to be in by monday morning to insure they're printed in this weeks papers. So not only did I write the multiple articles but I wrote them all several times all using different "voices" and different "language".

I still haven't decided what tones I want to use in the articles/write-ups so I'll leave that till tomorrow when my mind isn't so drained. I'll shape them to fit my audience for sure, but not sure in what why yet.

But enough of that for now.

This week marked the end of my second week of my 14 week fitness program I've made for myself. I know after only 2 weeks it's not an accurate gauge and you shouldn't judge your results, or lack thereof too harshly, but I must say I'm very happy so far. I'm definately starting to see some major results and that's only served to motivate me even more. I'll worry about bigger results once I reach the 4 week mark, but leave it say, I'm very happy so far.

Now comes the downnote.

Yesterday, Friday, being the end of week 2 I decided to push myself extra hard, just to see where I am, see where I've improved, and maybe, just maybe, to show off a little. And just as expected, I'm very sore. But not too sore, I started on a few supplements to aid me in my workout and it's really helped out. Nothing too over the top or crazy, mostly certain vitamins and such to help me target certain things, mostly muscle healing and development. And the best part is they're all natural. Most of the reasoning behind it is that there would be no way I could get all these things from my diet alone. So that's a big bonus.

I went tanning a few times this week. The first on monday, I kept it conservative and didn't go in for too long and developed a bit of color. My big reason for tanning isn't really for just looks alone though. I have to fight off the typical winter dry skin issues, and well, I'll be honest, a few minutes in a tanning booth is not only a lot easier than constantly applying cremes and such, but it's a lot more fun and feels great!

As anyone who's ever gone tanning can surely attest too!

I went again yesterday but decided to stay in a bit longer, I blame the cute cool at the counter for talking me into it :P. Well that, and me being a bit overzealous. Well, I stayed in too long, overdid it, and now I'm a bit burned up.

So, what a great weekend this is, a combination of muscle soreness and sunburn. But I'll be honest, this is nowhere near the dumbest thing I've ever done (not by a long shot really).

I'll get over it.

Ok, I typed way more than I intended too. I'll shut up now :D

P.S. Sweaters rock!
